Book : The Diabetes Code by Dr. Jason Fung

Best-selling author, intermittent-fasting advocate and Diet Doctor columnist Dr. Jason Fung just released a new and very important book – The Diabetes Code.
Globally, the number of people with diabetes mellitus has quadrupled in the past three decades. About 1 in 11 adults worldwide now have diabetes mellitus (90% of whom have type 2 diabetes) and it has become one of the most common causes of premature death and disability. While other diseases, like smallpox, AIDS and tuberculosis, are now pretty much under control, we have completely failed to do the same with the epidemic of type 2 diabetes.
Why? Have we fundamentally misunderstood what causes the disease and how to treat it?
Today, most doctors, dietitians, and even diabetes specialists consider type 2 diabetes to be a chronic and progressive disease – a life sentence with no possibility of parole. But the truth, as Dr. Fung reveals in this paradigm-shifting book, is that type 2 diabetes is reversible.
This is a great book. It’s powerful, yet simple to understand. Dr. Fung even starts with a short chapter summarizing what type 2 diabetes is and how to reverse it, the “quick start guide”. This is so simple that a child could understand the basic idea after just a few pages – but likely a lot of professors will not.
You’d probably need a very long education to not understand something that should be so obvious. The book’s message feels extremely obvious to me, in a good way. It’s simple to understand, entertaining even, and it makes so much sense that it’s not surprising that the

recommended treatment works so well for so many people.
Again, the only shocking thing is that this book is so very controversial. It shouldn’t be, and I’m confident that it will not be in the future. Within a decade or two from now, the message of this book should hopefully be generally accepted everywhere. This book could speed this process up. It could change the world and the dramatically increase the health of everyone with type 2 diabetes – close to half a billion people! This is a book that should be read by every single person – doctors, nurses and other health care professionals – who treats people with diabetes. And I can’t recommend it highly enough to anyone who has type 2 diabetes, or knows someone who do.
